Can I still purchase Cradle books 1-9?

You’re in luck! You can purchase books 1-3 (Foundation), 4-6 (Path of Gold), and 7-9 (Rise of Lords) as a set of faux-leather limited editions as an add-on! However, please note that these books will not be signed or numbered.

Why is there a limit to signed books?

During our first Kickstarter, we had no idea how many people would be interested in signed books. Turns out it was a lot of you! Will, along with the Hidden Gnome team, are a very small company, and we quickly realized having Will sign pages for weeks at a time was not sustainable. This is especially true if Will wanted to keep producing fantasy novels in a timely fashion - he can write books or sign lots of pages, not both. So in order to save his hands, arms, and soul, we’ve limited the number of signed books.

How do I tell you what book I want for the Path of Twin Stars pledge level or add-on?

How do I tell you what book I want for the Path of Twin Stars reward level? Roughly 2 weeks after the campaign has funded (assuming the project reaches its goal), you’ll receive a survey from our pledge manager BackerKit asking you to choose which book you’d like for the Path of Twin Stars reward level.

I made my pledge but it didn't ask for shipping information - how do I get that to you?

Roughly 2 weeks after the campaign has funded (assuming the project reaches its goal), you’ll receive a survey from our pledge manager BackerKit asking for the information we need to get you your rewards. One of those pieces of information is your address.

Will the books be numbered in order of who backed first or will it be random?

Unless you’ve selected a “Matching Numbers” add-on, it’s merely luck of the draw.

Is there a way to tell my backer number?

On the desktop site, click on Activity, then click on Backed Projects, and click the blue plus next to the project.

On the mobile site, the plus is hidden, so switch to the desktop version.

On Android, it’s as simple as going to the bottom under “Manage the Kickstarter,” and then the option will be on the top left.

We assume iOS is the same app as Android.

I created a Kickstarter account with an Apple private relay email addresses. Will that cause issues?

An account created with an Apple private relay email address will not be able to receive updates from pledge managers such as BackerKit. This means you’ll miss receiving surveys, be unable to verify your shipping address, or make changes to your order. Essentially we will not be able to get your order shipped to you and you won’t get the items you paid for!

It is HIGHLY recommended to NOT create a Kickstarter account with this kind of email address. If you have already created a Kickstarter account we would advise changing the email address linked with it.

What is a pledge manager?

The pledge manager we will be using is BackerKit which is a third-party service (pledge manager) that helps us make sure you get exactly what you want and are charged correctly for it.

When will this happen? You will receive an email from BackerKit roughly 2 weeks after the campaign is over, providing a link to the pledge manager platform and survey. From there, you can add whatever you want to your cart and see what you will be charged.

What will I pay for? The total cost will be the value of all the items in your cart plus shipping/taxes, minus whatever you were already charged in Kickstarter through your pledge.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
